AI, artificial intelligence, is a debased term. Nowadays it describes any problem which we can't simplistically write out an algorithm for, and has nothing to do intelligence. The “hard problem of AI” is the problem of creating actual artificial intelligence. Computer programs which think and believe and intend and feel exactly like humans do. Artificial life that is both sapient and sentient. That's what a syntilect is, and that's the goal.
